Still Got Love for the Streets no. 1<\/em> This work opens a series of nine pieces, the largest in Kende\u2019s historical catalogue. Original dimensions: 60 \u00d7 20 cm. The title is a declaration of belonging: the street does not represent a past to be left behind, but a permanent root. Currently in a private collection.<\/p>\n

Still got Love for the Streets n.1: una riga di muro<\/h2>\n

Londra, 2009. Il formato \u00e8 stretto e lungo, 60 per 20 centimetri: pi\u00f9 una riga che un quadro. L\u2019ho pensato come un frammento di muro staccato all\u2019altezza degli occhi, il punto in cui una tag si legge camminando.<\/p>\n

Sopra corrono le tags bianche, una linea rossa spray che attraversa tutta la tela, lettere ocra quasi coperte. In basso la superficie si chiude in una crosta grigia, come intonaco ripassato sopra le scritte.<\/p>\n

Quello che resta sotto la crosta<\/h3>\n

A Londra i muri venivano ripuliti di continuo. Una scritta durava una notte, a volte una settimana, poi spariva sotto una mano di vernice. Ma non spariva del tutto: il segno restava sotto, in rilievo, e la volta dopo qualcuno ci scriveva sopra di nuovo.<\/p>\n

Questa tela parte da l\u00ec. La crosta non cancella le scritte, le interrompe. Il titolo dice il resto: anche dopo la pulizia, l\u2019affetto per la strada rimane.<\/p>\n

Dalla riga al quadrato<\/h3>\n

Con la n.1 la serie comincia in piccolo, quasi sottovoce. Gi\u00e0 nella n.2<\/a> il formato si apre in un quadrato di un metro per lato e la superficie si riempie di strati. Qui c\u2019\u00e8 ancora la misura di un gesto solo, fatto di passaggio.<\/p>\n
